<p>Robert Half are with a Global Financial Services Organisation to recruit for a Linux / Oracle Systems Administrator (Banking) based in London on an initial 24 Month Fixed Term Contract for a Global Financial services Organisation.</p><p><strong>Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul><li>Administer and optimise Oracle databases for core banking applications (Flexcube), ensuring high availability, performance, and security.</li><li>Manage and maintain Linux and AIX servers hosting financial systems.</li><li>Perform OS and database upgrades, patching, and performance tuning.</li><li>Collaborate with senior IT staff and external specialists for planning and requirements.</li><li>Troubleshoot and resolve issues impacting banking services.</li><li>Implement and monitor backup and recovery strategies using RMAN and Data Guard.</li><li>Automate routine tasks via shell scripting and configuration management tools.</li><li>Ensure compliance with IT security policies and regulatory standards.</li><li>Participate in disaster recovery planning and testing.</li><li>Provide on-call support and incident response for production environments.</li><li>Document procedures, configurations, and operational runbooks.</li></ul><p><strong>Experience:</strong></p><ul><li>7+ years in Oracle DBA roles (including RAC, ASM, performance tuning)</li><li>Strong command of SQL and Oracle PL/SQL.</li><li>5+ years with Linux (RHEL/Oracle Linux) and AIX.</li><li>Experience with IBM Power systems</li><li>Shell scripting (Bash, Korn) and automation tools</li><li>Monitoring tools (OEM, Nagios) and log analysis</li><li>Banking and financial systems architecture.</li><li>Experience with Flexcube environments.</li></ul><p><strong>Organisation</strong>:</p><ul><li>Global Financial Services Organisation </li><li>24 Month Fixed Term Contract </li><li>Hybrid Working - London Based </li></ul><p>Robert Half Ltd acts as an employment business for temporary positions and an employment agency for permanent positions. <p><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong></p><p><strong>Project Finance Management:</strong></p><ul><li>Partner with Project Directors and Architects to manage budgets, forecasts, and profitability throughout the project lifecycle.</li><li>Coordinate and process changes to project financials - including scope adjustments, fee variations, and resourcing changes - ensuring updates are accurately reflected across the accounting system, forecasts, and internal reports.</li><li>Review and reconcile project amendments to maintain consistency between contractual documentation, project schedules, and accounting.</li><li>Produce and maintain project forecast vs. actual reports; identify deviations, analyse causes, and support corrective actions.</li><li>Provide clear insight to senior leadership on revenue recognition, utilisation, and margin performance.</li><li>Oversee invoicing and WIP management, ensuring revenue is recognised in line with project progress and contractual milestones.</li><li>Liaise with project leads to monitor sub-consultant and supplier costs and ensure timely approvals and billing.</li><li>Support compliance with timesheet completion and data integrity for all project-related entries.</li></ul><p> <strong>Financial and Management Accounting:</strong></p><ul><li>Prepare project and department-level profitability reporting for internal review and consolidation.</li><li>Support credit control and cashflow forecasting through accurate monitoring of project billings and receipts.</li><li>Support the Head of Financial Reporting & Control in implementing and refining project accounting procedures, including fee change tracking, project closeout reconciliations, and variance analysis.</li><li>Contribute to continuous improvement of financial systems and ensuring data consistency and workflow efficiency.</li></ul><p><strong>About You:</strong></p><ul><li>Qualified or finalist accountant (ACCA / CIMA / ACA).</li><li>Strong experience in project accounting, ideally within architecture, engineering, or professional services.</li><li>Strong understanding of project costing, WIP, and margin analysis.</li><li>Excellent Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, modelling).</li><li>Experience with Sage 200, Deltek, or similar project accounting systems.</li><li>Exceptional attention to detail, analytical mindset, and commercial awareness.</li><li>Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with creative teams.</li></ul><p>Robert Half Ltd acts as an employment business for temporary positions and an employment agency for permanent positions.
