This newly created role offers the opportunity to join an organisation at an important stage of its development, with genuine scope to improve how financial performance is forecast, reported and understood across the business.<h2>The Opportunity</h2>Reporting into the Financial Controller, you'll play a key role in shaping how the business understands and manages its financial performance.This is not simply a reporting role. You'll take ownership of the budgeting and forecasting cycle, develop and improve FP&A processes, and ensure senior stakeholders have accurate, timely and meaningful financial information to support decision-making.You'll have visibility across a broad operational and commercial environment, working with senior stakeholders to understand performance, challenge assumptions and identify opportunities to improve profitability and business performance.Your responsibilities will include:<ul data-spread="false"><li>Owning the annual budgeting process and supporting ongoing financial planning.</li><li>Preparing monthly revenue, margin and profit forecasts.</li><li>Leading cross-functional revenue review meetings with Sales, Operations and Procurement.</li><li>Analysing P&L performance, investigating significant variances and challenging stakeholders where required.</li><li>Identifying trends, risks and opportunities and recommending appropriate corrective actions.</li><li>Business partnering with senior stakeholders across the organisation.</li><li>Monitoring capital expenditure and supporting investment decisions and business cases.</li><li>Ensuring the integrity and accuracy of financial data across ERP and reporting systems.</li><li>Producing high-quality management reporting and ensuring consistent financial information is used across the business.</li><li>Developing and improving reporting packs, processes and tools to make financial insight more accessible and useful.</li><li>Manipulating and analysing financial data to identify trends, anomalies and performance drivers.</li><li>Supporting senior leadership with analysis and decision-making, with potential exposure to Board-level discussions.</li><li>Helping establish a more consistent and effective approach to FP&A across the business.</li></ul><h2>About You</h2>We're looking for a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with strong experience across FP&A, commercial finance or finance business partnering.You'll ideally bring:<ul data-spread="false"><li>5+ years' experience in FP&A or a commercially focused finance role.</li><li>Strong ownership of budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis.</li><li>Proven experience improving or developing financial processes, reporting or forecasting approaches.</li><li>Strong data manipulation and analytical skills, with the ability to turn financial data into clear commercial insight.</li><li>Advanced Excel skills and strong financial modelling capability.</li><li>Experience working with ERP and financial reporting systems.</li><li>Experience with Power BI or other financial reporting/BI tools would be advantageous.</li><li>Excellent stakeholder management and business partnering skills.</li><li>The confidence to challenge senior stakeholders and explain financial information clearly to non-finance teams.</li><li>Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex information in a clear and concise way.</li><li>A proactive, commercially minded approach and the ability to work independently and take ownership.</li></ul>Experience within a manufacturing, engineering or other operationally complex environment would be highly desirable, although strong FP&A candidates from other sectors will also be considered.<h2>Why Join?</h2>This is a great opportunity to join a business where FP&A is being developed and strengthened, rather than simply stepping into an established reporting role.You'll have genuine ownership of the budgeting and forecasting cycle, regular interaction with senior stakeholders and the opportunity to influence decisions across the commercial and operational sides of the business.You'll also have the opportunity to improve reporting processes, strengthen the quality of financial data and help establish a more consistent approach to financial insight across the organisation.The business offers hybrid working, with the flexibility to work from home 1-2 days per week.Salary: £60,000-£75,000 depending on experience Location: Maidenhead Working pattern: HybridRobert Half Ltd acts as an employment business for temporary positions and an employment agency for permanent positions. Robert Half Technology are assisting a market-leading threat intelligence organisation to recruit a Privacy & Data Security Engineer on a 2-year temporary contract basis.
