Senior Financial Analyst in Ottawa, ON

Senior Financial Analyst Job Description

Senior financial analysts must be excellent communicators who also have strong organizational and problem-solving abilities. Candidates need to have superior technology skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and database applications. ERP systems experience also is valued. Companies expect a Bachelorate's degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics but prefer candidates who also have a Master of Business Administration (MBA). A professional certification such as a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) is a plus. A minimum of five to 10 years of experience in the banking industry is required, as are excellent technology skills, particularly Microsoft Excel and other financial software.

Performing financial analysis and modellingAssisting with the preparation of financial plans and budgetsAnalyzing, interpreting and communicating cost and expense variances to managementVerifying cost allocations according to company proceduresEvaluating borrowing structures to ensure competitive funding costs
