Typical security architect duties:

Design and implement a comprehensive security architecture aligned with the organization's business needs, risk profile, and compliance requirements.

Analyze security threats and vulnerabilities, recommending appropriate security controls and mitigation strategies.

Select and implement security technologies and solutions (firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, data encryption, access control systems).

Design and implement security policies, procedures, and standards to ensure a consistent security posture across the organization.

Collaborate with IT teams (network administrators, system administrators) to integrate security considerations into infrastructure design and operations.

Conduct security assessments and penetration testing to identify and address security weaknesses.

Lead or participate in security incident response planning and exercises.

Advise and educate stakeholders on security risks and best practices.
