Key responsibilities of an Accounts Receivable Manager include:Managing the end-to-end accounts receivable process and overseeing team performanceDeveloping and implementing strategies to improve collections and reduce aged debtReviewing and approving credit terms and performing credit risk assessmentsEnsuring invoice accuracy and compliance with GST requirements set by the IRDOverseeing the preparation of AR aging reports and cash flow forecastingLiaising with key customers to resolve complex billing or payment issuesCoordinating with finance teams for month-end close and account reconciliationsLeading continuous improvement initiatives to enhance AR processes and internal controlsMonitoring AR KPIs and preparing performance reports for senior managementEnsuring accuracy and efficiency in receivables systems such as Xero, MYOB, or SAP

Accounts Receivable Manager job qualifications and requirements

A diploma or degree in accounting, finance, or business is preferred. Candidates should have 5+ years’ experience in accounts receivable, including 2+ years in a leadership role.Requirements include:Demonstrated experience managing end-to-end accounts receivable functions and leading collection strategiesStrong understanding of GST compliance and IRD reporting obligationsProficiency in accounting systems such as Xero, MYOB, or SAPExcellent communication and stakeholder management skillsProven ability to implement process improvements and manage performance metrics such as DSO (Days Sales Outstanding)Strong analytical and organisational skills to support cash flow forecasting, credit risk management, and debtor reporting
