The ERP Technical Consultant is responsible for the design, development, and integration of ERP solutions to meet business requirements. This role supports system customisation, data migration, and technical troubleshooting, ensuring ERP environments are secure, performant, and compliant with New Zealand regulatory standards.

ERP Technical Consultant duties and responsibilities of the job

Key responsibilities of an ERP Technical Consultant include:Developing and maintaining customisations, workflows, and integrations within ERP platforms (e.g. SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, Oracle)Collaborating with functional consultants and business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical specificationsSupporting ERP implementation, upgrade, and data migration activitiesEnsuring system security, performance, and availability in line with ISO 27001 and the NZ Privacy ActWriting scripts, reports, and system interfaces using ERP-specific development tools and APIsTroubleshooting technical issues, performing root cause analysis, and applying fixes or patchesDocumenting technical architecture, configurations, and development practicesSupporting user testing, training, and deployment activities during project lifecycles

ERP Technical Consultant job qualifications and requirements

A degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field is required. Certifications in relevant ERP platforms (e.g. SAP ABAP, Microsoft Dynamics, Oracle Cloud) are advantageous.Requirements include:3+ years’ experience in ERP technical consulting or developmentStrong skills in ERP scripting languages, APIs, and integration toolsExperience with database management, data migration, and reporting toolsFamiliarity with New Zealand-specific data protection and cybersecurity standardsProven ability to support ERP customisations and performance optimisationStrong communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills
