The Project Manager leads the planning, execution, and delivery of technology projects to ensure they are completed on time, within scope, and on budget. This role collaborates with cross-functional teams and stakeholders across New Zealand to deliver solutions that meet business objectives while adhering to compliance and governance standards.

Project Manager duties and responsibilities of the job

Key responsibilities of a Project Manager include:Defining project scope, objectives, timelines, and resource requirementsManaging end-to-end project delivery using agile, waterfall, or hybrid methodologiesMonitoring project progress, identifying risks, and implementing mitigation strategiesCollaborating with technical teams, vendors, and business stakeholders to align on deliverablesPreparing project documentation, reporting, and governance artefactsEnsuring project outputs comply with the NZ Privacy Act, ISO 27001, and internal IT policiesManaging budgets, procurement processes, and vendor contracts related to project deliveryFacilitating stakeholder communication, change management, and user adoption activities

Project Manager job qualifications and requirements

A degree in project management, information technology, or a related field is required. Certifications such as PRINCE2, PMP, or Agile/Scrum are advantageous.Requirements include:5+ years’ experience managing technology projects in New ZealandProven ability to deliver complex projects across infrastructure, software, or digital environmentsStrong knowledge of project lifecycle methodologies and governance practicesFamiliarity with New Zealand data privacy and security compliance requirementsExcellent stakeholder engagement, budgeting, and communication skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities and lead cross-functional teams to successful outcomes
