The ERP Functional Consultant is responsible for analysing business processes and configuring ERP systems to align with operational requirements. This role works closely with stakeholders to design and implement ERP solutions that drive efficiency, compliance, and performance across New Zealand business units.

ERP Functional Consultant duties and responsibilities of the job

Key responsibilities of an ERP Functional Consultant include:Gathering and documenting business requirements to design ERP system functionality and workflowsConfiguring ERP modules (e.g. finance, supply chain, HR) in alignment with business processesCollaborating with technical teams on system integration, data migration, and customisationsFacilitating user training, testing, and support during ERP rollouts and upgradesEnsuring ERP solutions comply with the NZ Privacy Act, IRD obligations, and NZ IFRS where applicableTroubleshooting and resolving functional issues, escalating technical problems as neededProviding ongoing system support and process optimisation post-implementationDeveloping functional documentation, user guides, and standard operating procedures

ERP Functional Consultant job qualifications and requirements

A degree in information systems, business, or a related field is required. ERP certifications (e.g. SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics) are advantageous.Requirements include:3+ years’ experience in ERP functional consulting or business systems analysisStrong knowledge of ERP configuration and core business processes (e.g. finance, procurement, HR)Experience in end-to-end ERP implementations or upgradesFamiliarity with New Zealand-specific compliance requirements, including IRD and NZ IFRSExcellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and problem-solving skillsAbility to translate business needs into technical requirements and system configurations
