Key responsibilities of an Automation Test Analyst include:Developing and maintaining automated test scripts using frameworks such as Selenium, Cypress, or PlaywrightIntegrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to support rapid and reliable deploymentsCollaborating with developers, business analysts, and manual testers to define test coverage and acceptance criteriaConducting automated regression, functional, and performance testing across multiple environmentsEnsuring test scripts and data comply with the NZ Privacy Act and secure testing practicesInvestigating test failures, logging defects, and working with development teams to resolve issuesMaintaining test documentation, including test plans, results, and automation architectureContributing to test strategy, tool selection, and continuous improvement of testing processes

Automation Manual Test Analyst job qualifications and requirements

A degree in software engineering, computer science, or a related field is required. ISTQB certification in test automation is advantageous.Requirements include:3+ years’ experience in automated software testingStrong skills in test automation tools and scripting languages (e.g. JavaScript, Python, Java, C#)Experience integrating tests into CI/CD workflows (e.g. Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps)Familiarity with REST API testing and data-driven testing methodsUnderstanding of New Zealand-specific privacy and data security obligations in software testingStrong analytical, documentation, and troubleshooting skillsAbility to collaborate across development and QA teams to ensure test efficiency and accuracy
