Financial Reporting Manager

Financial Reporting Manager Job Description:

Most financial reporting managers have more than five years of experience in a management role leading financial reporting and accounting teams, as well as expertise in International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial reporting requirements. Companies look for candidates who are detail-oriented and have top-notch analytical and organizational skills. Candidates must also be able to work effectively across organizational lines and have strong writing and verbal skills. A bachelor’s degree in business or finance and a chartered professional accountant (CPA) certification is required for this position. Candidates with public accounting experience and a master’s degree in finance, business or economics are often preferred.

Typical Duties of a Financial Reporting Manager:

Managing the corporate financial reporting process, including preparation of consolidated financial statements and quarterly reports to the board and other stakeholders Helping to develop and maintain accounting policies Leading financial reporting projects, such as implementation of changes in accounting standards Managing relationships with external auditors Reviewing publicly disclosed corporate financial information for accuracy and consistency
