Most financial reporting managers have more than five years of experience in a management role leading financial reporting and accounting teams, as well as expertise in International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial reporting requirements. Companies look for candidates who are detail-oriented and have top-notch analytical and organizational skills. Candidates must also be able to work effectively across organizational lines and have strong writing and verbal skills. A bachelor’s degree in business or finance and a chartered professional accountant (CPA) certification is required for this position.
