- <p><strong>Robert Half</strong> <strong>Talent Solutions</strong> is currently looking for a <strong>Legal Counsel (m/f/x) </strong>for a permanent position based in <strong>Brussels</strong>.</p><p>Our client is a fast growing company active in the <strong>banking sector</strong>.</p><p>As <strong>Legal Counsel (m/f/x) </strong>you will be <strong>responsible</strong> for:</p><ul><li>Assisting with corporate housekeeping and managing board and shareholder meetings, including coordinating timing and location of meetings, preparing and distributing board/shareholder pre-read materials, meeting agendas, notifications and meeting minutes for the board of directors and shareholders; </li><li>Assisting the business lines with day-to-day legal matters related to the Bank's activities and products, including banking, lending, savings, investment and commercial matters; </li><li>Providing research, legal analysis, business-oriented advice, legal opinions and memoranda to the business lines; </li><li>Drafting, reviewing and negotiating a wide range of commercial, banking and financial contracts; </li><li>Developing and maintaining the Bank's policies, procedures and governance framework on industry-specific issues, corporate governance and regulatory matters; </li><li>Providing clarification on legal language or specifications to the business lines and contributing to legal awareness and training initiatives; </li><li>Communicating and negotiating with external parties, including external counsel, regulators, Ombudsfin and other stakeholders, and supporting the business lines in such interactions; </li><li>Drafting and amending contracts, procedures, and other legal documents; </li><li>Creating and managing a solid legal contractual database; </li><li>Optimising legal processes and workflows to improve efficiency, consistency and risk management; </li><li>Continuously staying abreast of evolving laws and regulations by reviewing legal resources and consequently informing the business lines; </li><li>Analysing on a regular basis the Bank's actions and decisions, identifying legal and operational risk areas, suggesting alternative courses of action and proposing mitigating measures; </li><li>Gradually assisting with transactional work (M&A, structured finance, and capital markets); </li><li>Providing support to the wider Legal team, including acting as a back-up for team members and assisting with governance and administrative legal matters when required; </li><li>Contributing as a trusted internal legal adviser to the Bank's departments, with a hands-on and solution-oriented approach;</li><li>Other duties as may be determined from time to time by the General Counsel.</li></ul><p>The required <strong>profile</strong> for the <strong>Legal Counsel (m/f/x) </strong>position:</p><ul><li><strong>Master's degree in Belgian Law (only Belgian qualified lawyers) </strong>any additional degree is a plus; </li><li><strong>Minimum 5 years' experience </strong>(experience as a legal counsel in a bank, financial institution, or law firm advising the financial sector is an asset); </li><li><strong>Generalist legal profile</strong> with a strong interest in the financial sector; banking law expertise is not required, but a genuine curiosity, willingness to learn, and motivation to develop expertise in a regulated banking environment are essential.</li><li>Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.</li><li>Fluent in <strong>English</strong> and <strong>French and/or Dutch</strong> (knowledge of both national languages is an asset).</li></ul><p>Interested in this position of<strong> Legal Counsel (m/f/x)</strong> at a young and dynamic company? - <p>For our client, a prominent international group situated in the <strong>West of Brussels</strong>, we are searching for a <strong>Corporate Accounting Expert</strong> (M/F/X). </p><p> This is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced professional looking to join a dynamic team within a truly international environment.</p><p><strong>Job Description:</strong></p><p>As a Corporate Accounting Expert, you will be responsible for maintaining sound accounting principles, practices, and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements.</p><p>Your scope will include follow-up and reporting for leasing, housekeeping, payroll, and travel expenses, as well as tax return preparation, general ledger activities, financial reporting, year-end audit support, and assistance with budgets and forecasts. You will also support the integration of newly opened or acquired stores into existing accounting processes.</p><p> </p><p>In this fast-paced environment, you will coordinate information flows across multiple departments and manage relationships with external service providers. In addition, you will support the Accounting Manager in coaching the team and ensure that work is properly allocated and completed accurately and on time.</p><p> </p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul><li>Coordinate the daily accounting administration and follow-up of invoice and commitment cycles for leasing, housekeeping, payroll, real estate taxes, and travel expenses.</li><li>Monitor these expenses against budget and support the preparation of budgets and management reporting.</li><li>Review reconciliations, including accruals, prepaid accounts, suspense accounts, and payroll data in collaboration with the Payroll Manager.</li><li>Support month-end and year-end closing activities, including account analysis, intercompany recharges, and commentary on fluctuations.</li><li>Coordinate internal and external audit activities and prepare the required audit documentation and samples.</li><li>Ensure compliance with VAT, real estate tax, and other tax obligations in close cooperation with the Tax department.</li><li>Support statutory and group reporting for subsidiaries in line with IFRS and local GAAP, including annual accounts and accounting memos.</li><li>Contribute to mergers, acquisitions, integrations, and other ad-hoc finance projects.</li><li>Help implement and improve accounting procedures, controls, and systems, and participate in European finance projects and process improvements.</li><li>Support the Accounting Manager in guiding the team, advising on non-routine transactions, and training team members where needed.</li></ul><p><strong>Profile of the Ideal Candidate:</strong></p><ul><li>Bachelor's or master's degree in accounting, finance, economics, or equivalent through experience.</li><li>Minimum 5 years of accounting experience, preferably within the Services or Retail sector and within an international context.</li><li>Experience in a multi-country or shared service center environment is a plus.</li><li>Sound knowledge of IFRS and local GAAP is a must-have.</li><li>Experience with SAP is required; SAP S/4HANA familiarity is a plus.</li><li>Fluent in English; proficiency in French or German is a strong asset.
