Working closely with both Infrastructure and Group Cyber teams, you will play a key role in maintaining secure, stable, and compliant technology environments while proactively identifying and remediating risks across the business.<br /><br />This is a hands-on systems engineering position with a focus on security, being the cyber security champion within the team. This means alongside your day to day duties, you'll also take a proactive approach to monitoring the systems and working with the global team on phishing campaigns.<br /><br /><strong>Key responsibilities include:</strong></p><ul><li>Administer and maintain Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and Windows Server environments.</li><li>Perform monthly patching across test, development, and production server environments.</li><li>Maintain and support all Windows Server and desktop operating systems.</li><li>Manage and optimise Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint Online, Intune, and Entra ID.</li><li>Proactively monitor infrastructure, alerts, and cyber notifications, performing remediation activities where required.</li><li>Investigate security and network activity logs to identify potential threats, risks, or unusual behaviour.</li><li>Monitor vulnerability management platforms such as Tenable, identifying security vulnerabilities and coordinating remediation activities.</li><li>Raise and coordinate change requests relating to vulnerability remediation and infrastructure improvements.</li><li>Ensure Cortex, Tenable, and other security monitoring tools are deployed, updated, and operating effectively.</li><li>Deploy software, configurations, and system updates across enterprise environments.</li><li>Coordinate the resolution of security findings, vulnerabilities, technical debt, and infrastructure risks.</li><li>Act as the local representative for Group Cyber, ensuring security requirements and remediation activities are appropriately actioned.</li><li>Support cyber awareness initiatives, including administering KnowBe4 training campaigns and following up with end users and managers to ensure compliance requirements are met.</li><li>Assist with the completion of cybersecurity-related RFI and tender responses.</li><li>Maintain operational documentation, automate repetitive tasks, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.</li><li>Ensure service levels, compliance requirements, and operational standards are consistently achieved.</li></ul><p><strong>What You'll Bring</strong></p><ul><li>3+ years' experience in a Systems Engineer, Infrastructure Engineer, or similar role.</li><li>Strong experience supporting Active Directory, Group Policy, Windows Server, and Microsoft infrastructure environments.</li><li>Proven experience managing server patching, system maintenance, and vulnerability remediation activities.</li><li>Hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 technologies, including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint Online, Intune, and Entra ID.</li><li>Exposure to vulnerability management and security tools such as Tenable, Cortex, Microsoft Defender, or similar platforms.</li><li>Experience monitoring infrastructure, reviewing logs, and responding to incidents, vulnerabilities, and operational risks.</li><li>Ability to take a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues rather than waiting for escalations or tickets.</li><li>Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across Infrastructure, Cyber Security, and business teams.</li></ul><p>This role offers flexibility; however, it is fully onsite based in East Tamaki.
