The Role This is a hands-on, on-prem role where you'll work with FortiGate firewalls and Aruba switching infrastructure to design and implement segmentation controls, improving security between systems and corporate networks. You'll be involved across the full lifecycle, including planning, network discovery, design, and hands-on implementation. In New Zealand, the organisation have over 50 care homes & villages throughout the country however you will be based in the Auckland office.Duties & Responsibilities:Operations & Support<ul><li>Proactively monitor infrastructure, networks, and systems to ensure optimal performance, availability, and reliability, identifying and addressing potential issues before impact.</li><li>Execute system backup and recovery procedures, ensuring data integrity and adherence to business continuity requirements.</li><li>Maintain and enforce robust security controls to safeguard business systems, customer data, and infrastructure.</li><li>Collaborate closely with Cyber Security teams to monitor environments, detect potential intrusions, and uphold agreed security standards.</li><li>Provide Level 2 support across the environment, including incident investigation, troubleshooting, and managing escalations with third-party vendors.</li></ul>Platform & Infrastructure Maintenance<ul><li>Administer and maintain SCCM, including software deployments, patching, configuration management, and reporting.</li><li>Manage Veeam backup solutions, including policies, schedules, storage, and retention to ensure reliable data protection.</li><li>Oversee Microsoft Intune (MAM/MDM) configurations and policies to support secure device management.</li><li>Support and maintain Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 (O365) services and resources.</li><li>Conduct ongoing performance tuning, system upgrades, patching, and capacity/resource optimisation.</li><li>Support and maintain LAN, WAN, and Wi-Fi network environments.</li></ul>Environment & Technology Scope<ul><li>Support core infrastructure including servers, storage, and platform services.</li><li>Administer identity services across Active Directory and Entra ID.</li><li>Manage network technologies including SD-WAN, LAN, and wireless environments.</li><li>Support cloud and productivity platforms, including Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365.</li><li>Maintain data communications, including internet connectivity, WAN links, and VPN services.</li><li>Oversee end-user environments, including client devices and mobile platforms.</li></ul>Governance, Risk & Security<ul><li>Adhere to and support change management processes to ensure controlled and compliant system updates.</li><li>Identify, manage, and mitigate risks and issues across the IT environment.</li><li>Ensure robust backup and business continuity practices, including redundancy, backup validation, and recovery testing.</li><li>Maintain strong cyber security practices, including system hardening, firewall management, anti-virus protection, and data integrity controls.</li></ul>Skills & Experience<ul><li>Prior experience in a similar, technical role</li><li>Expert proficiency with VMWare, Azure, SCCM and M365</li><li>Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal</li><li>Ability to work under pressure and modify tempo to suit different situations</li><li>Confident working autonomously</li></ul>This role is hybrid with work from home available on Fridays.
