The RoleThe role of Commercial analyst sits within the operations team, directly reporting to the Head of Commercial with a dotted line to the CFO. This role acts as the key financial link between project delivery teams and finance. The Role We are seeking a motivated Commercial Analyst to join a high-performing finance team and play a key role in supporting strategic decision-making across predominantly the manufacturing operations. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with the factory operations, implementing standard costing procedures, financial planning and analysis, pricing, forecasting, budgeting, and business partnering in a fast-paced environment. Reporting to the Commercial Manager, you will be responsible for delivering commercial insights and financial analysis that support operational performance and profitability of the plants. You will work closely with stakeholders across Finance, Operations, and Sales, providing meaningful analysis that helps influence business outcomes. Key responsibilities include:<ul><li>Conducting product costing, pricing, and profitability analysis</li><li>Implementing Standard Cost and BOM's methodologies</li><li>Supporting pricing decisions and commercial initiatives</li><li>Preparing operational performance reports, KPI reporting, and variance analysis, predominantly around production and materials variances.</li><li>Contributing to monthly forecasting and annual budgeting processes</li><li>Providing financial modelling and analysis for new product development</li><li>Supporting CAPEX business case evaluations</li><li>Developing process improvements and maintaining documentation</li><li>Partnering with stakeholders (Site managers) across the business to provide commercial insights</li><li>Participating in business improvement projects and ad hoc analysis as required.</li><li>Being an active participant in a major systems implementation which is in the pipeline and currently being planned for.</li><li>Other ad hoc duties as required.</li></ul>Your Profile To be successful in this role, you will bring:<ul><li>A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline</li><li>Ideally 3+ years' experience in a Commercial Analyst, FP&A Analyst, Management Accountant, or similar role</li><li>Manufacturing, FMCG, or operational business experience will be highly regarded</li><li>Standard costing methodology knowledge is essential</li><li>Strong financial modelling and analytical capability</li><li>Advanced Excel skills with the ability to work confidently with large datasets and complex models</li><li>Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and performance reporting</li><li>Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence stakeholders across the business</li><li>A proactive, self-motivated approach with strong attention to detail</li><li>CA, CPA, or progress towards a professional accounting qualification is advantageous</li><li>Exposure to Power BI or data analytics tools would be beneficial.</li></ul>Apply Today Please send your resume by clicking on the apply button or call Megan Alexander on 09 915 6700.
