You will work alongside the Managing Director in NZ, as well as reporting to a VP, Finance, based in Shanghai.</p><p>The role of Financial Controller will manage a small team, as well as leading the local finance function with a strong commercial focus. You will have a broad remit and an opportunity to be more than just finance. Your responsibilities will include:</p><ul><li>Act as a strategic partner to the senior leadership team by providing financial insights to support performance and drive long-term financial planning</li><li>Partner closely with operational leaders, including a highly capable plant manager to track productivity, support and implement cost saving initiatives and drive performance</li><li>Lead and manage the preparation of monthly rolling forecasts by working closely with the business</li><li>Provide financial analysis to support local decision making and enable growth initiatives</li><li>Lead and support the development of enterprise-wide key performance metrics to provide insights on opportunities for growth</li><li>Provide insights &amp; recommendations on optimising and growing product and portfolios, through strong understanding of costs, pricing and margin</li><li>Ensure accurate and timely reporting to Group in line with group reporting obligations</li><li>Develop, implement and enforce robust internal controls and procedures to ensure compliance with Group standards</li><li>Responsible for ensuring tax compliance, including GST, income tax etc</li><li>Lead the annual audit</li></ul><p><br /><strong>Your profile:</strong></p><p>To be considered for this role, we are looking for someone with the following attributes:</p><ul><li>A proven finance leader with strong commercial nous and understanding of manufacturing processes</li><li>A genuine desire to engage closely with senior leadership and other business leaders to effectively partner the business</li><li>Strategic &amp; visionary thinking with the ability to provide an advisory function to the business and translate this into breakthrough strategies</li><li>Commercial finance experience within a manufacturing environment</li><li>A high degree of emotional intelligence whereby you can positively influence those around you and confidently represent the local function</li><li>Preferably experience working in a global business with an understanding of working in MNC's with global reporting deadlines</li><li>A passion for what the business does and the products they produce</li><li>The ability and desire to be hands on with the finance function whilst not losing site of the big picture</li><li>Someone who is professionally driven and wants to continue to grow their career (there is a strong development pathway for the right individual)</li></ul><p>To be considered for the role, it is non-negotiable that you are based in NZ with relevant working rights and strong local experience. This is a newly created role to partner the CFO directly to enable effective decision making.</p><p>The company is based in South/East Auckland, and has a lovely feel with modern offices, parking on site and an opportunity to make a difference.</p><p><strong>The Role</strong></p><p>The Finance Analyst role offers the opportunity to collaborate closely with an accomplished and knowledgeable CFO. With the monthly accounting tasks managed by an external provider within the broader "Group" of entities, this position is focused on analytical work and ad hoc projects.
