This role supports project teams by controlling the flow of documents and ensuring version control throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities of a Document Controller include:Managing the receipt, tracking, and distribution of project documents and recordsEnsuring accurate document version control and proper filing protocolsCoordinating with project managers, engineers, and external stakeholders to maintain documentation standardsReviewing documents for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with project requirementsMaintaining document management systems and archivesPreparing reports, registers, and document summaries for management and audit purposesEnsuring confidentiality and security of sensitive informationSupporting quality assurance and compliance processes related to documentation

Typical Document Controller job qualifications and requirements

A background in administration or project support is required, with strong organisational and document management skills. A certificate or diploma in business administration or project management is preferred.Proven experience in a document control or administrative support roleFamiliarity with document control systems such as Aconex, SharePoint, or similar platformsHigh attention to detail and commitment to document accuracyStrong organisational and time management skillsExcellent communication and stakeholder coordination abilitiesUnderstanding of project workflows and documentation standardsEnsure documentation aligns with ISO standards and quality framework
