Frequently asked questions about the salary calculator

How accurate are the salaries in the salary calculator?
We use a rigorous, multi-step process to develop starting salary benchmarks that reflect projected market trends. The salary ranges presented in the Salary Guide from Robert Half are based on actual compensation data from candidates placed in The Netherlands, vacancy data from third parties, and validation by our talent managers. So, you’re in the right place to get help with questions like “What salary should I be earning?” or “What salary should we offer for this role?”
Does the salary calculator account for experience in a role?
Yes. Our 25th, 50th en 75th percentiles take into account a candidate’s years of experience, skill set and certifications, as well as other factors including industry, the hiring company’s size, complexity or revenue; and demand for the role.
What are the compensation trends for Netherlands in 2027?
Salary growth is expected to remain measured in 2027, but employers are still investing in competitive pay for critical roles, hard-to-staff positions and candidates with specialized skills. Pay transparency is also increasing demand for current salary data as employers need accurate market benchmarks to set and communicate competitive salary ranges.
