Angular is a software platform for building mobile and web-based applications. An Angular Developer is a Javascript developer that specialises in using the Angular framework.

Angular Developers are ultimately responsible for designing and building applications that not only fulfil the needs of the end-user, but also meet the business goals of the customer or client.

Some of the responsibilities include:

Adapting and updating existing applications

Writing Javascript, HTML, and CSS

Conducting performance tests

Working with the design/product team

Ensuring the ongoing functionality of relevant applications.

What skills and qualifications should an Angular Developer have?

Angular Developers are designers and coders, and so should have a good understanding of product design, design thinking, and/or software development.

While a tertiary education in computer science or software development is recommended, it is not necessary. Instead, Angular Developers should be able to demonstrate:

A strong understanding of Javascript, HTML, CSS, and the Angular framework

Knowledge of UX concepts

Experience with RESTful APIs

Experience working with module bundlers, for example: Webpack, Node, or Browserify

Candidates should also be able to demonstrate their ability to keep up with the latest developments within the field.
