The Infrastructure Manager oversees the design, implementation, and operation of IT infrastructure to ensure secure, resilient, and scalable technology services across New Zealand operations. This leadership role is responsible for managing infrastructure teams, maintaining system performance, and aligning infrastructure strategy with organisational objectives.

Infrastructure Manager duties and responsibilities of the job

Key responsibilities of an Infrastructure Manager include:Leading the delivery and maintenance of enterprise infrastructure, including networks, servers, storage, and cloud servicesEnsuring compliance with the NZ Privacy Act, ISO 27001, and internal IT governance standardsManaging infrastructure projects, including upgrades, migrations, and business continuity planningOverseeing daily operations and incident response across on-premise and cloud environments (e.g. Azure, AWS)Developing infrastructure roadmaps and policies aligned w-ith business and security requirementsLeading vendor management and procurement for infrastructure hardware, software, and servicesManaging infrastructure budgets, resource allocation, and risk mitigation strategiesMentoring and guiding systems engineers, network specialists, and support teamsSupporting cybersecurity initiatives and coordinating with IT security functions

Infrastructure Manager job qualifications and requirements

A degree in information technology, systems engineering, or a related field is required. Certifications such as ITIL, Microsoft, Cisco, or cloud architecture (Azure/AWS) are advantageous.Requirements include:7+ years’ experience in infrastructure roles, including 2+ years in a leadership capacityProven ability to manage enterprise infrastructure operations and project deliveryExpertise in cloud platforms, virtualisation, storage, and network technologiesStrong knowledge of New Zealand cybersecurity, data privacy, and regulatory frameworksExperience leading teams and working with senior stakeholders across business unitsExcellent communication, vendor management, and strategic planning skills
