Key responsibilities of a Financial Planning and Analysis Manager include:Leading the annual budgeting, quarterly forecasting, and long-term planning cyclesPreparing and delivering financial performance reports with detailed variance analysisCollaborating with senior stakeholders across New Zealand to align financial goals with operational strategiesDeveloping and maintaining robust financial models to support business cases and scenario planningMonitoring KPIs and providing insights into trends, risks, and opportunitiesManaging monthly and quarterly reporting packs for executive and board-level audiencesEnsuring alignment with NZ IFRS and IRD requirements including GST, PAYE, and FBTDriving continuous improvement in reporting processes, systems, and data integrityProviding leadership and mentoring to analysts within the FP&A teamSupporting financial input into major projects and transformation initiatives

Financial Planning and Analysis Manager job qualifications and requirements

A degree in accounting, finance, or economics and full membership with CA ANZ or CPA Australia is required.Requirements include:7+ years’ experience in FP&A, commercial finance, or corporate planning rolesStrong financial modelling, budgeting, and forecasting expertiseProven ability to deliver executive-level reporting and insightsDeep understanding of NZ IFRS and IRD compliance obligationsProficiency with financial systems and BI tools (e.g. SAP, Power BI, Xero, MYOB)Strong communication and leadership skills for managing teams and stakeholders
