This role combines analytical rigour with strategic acumen, ensuring that financial decisions are grounded in robust forecasting, budgeting, and reporting aligned with New Zealand standards.

Finance Business Partner duties and responsibilities of the job

Key responsibilities of a Finance Business Partner include:Partnering with business units across New Zealand to support financial planning and decision-makingDeveloping forecasts, budgets, and long-term financial models to guide performanceProviding variance analysis and commentary on financial results and KPIsIdentifying opportunities for cost optimisation, margin improvement, and revenue growthTranslating complex financial data into actionable insights for non-financial stakeholdersEnsuring compliance with NZ IFRS and IRD obligations including GST, FBT, and PAYELeading month-end reporting processes for assigned business unitsSupporting business case development and investment analysisEnhancing financial visibility through continuous improvement of reporting tools and dashboardsCollaborating with finance and operational leaders to align financial strategy with business goals

Finance Business Partner job qualifications and requirements

A degree in accounting, finance, or economics and full membership with CA ANZ or CPA Australia is required.Requirements include:5+ years’ experience in commercial finance, business partnering, or financial analysis roles Strong financial modelling and analytical skills using Excel and business intelligence toolsProven ability to influence and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholdersDeep understanding of NZ IFRS and IRD reporting requirementsExperience with financial systems such as SAP, Xero, MYOB, or similar platformsCommercial awareness and strategic thinking to support business performance
