- We are looking for a detail-oriented Payroll Administrator to support payroll operations for a public transport organization in Austin, Texas. This contract position has the potential to become permanent and plays an important role in delivering accurate, timely pay for a large employee population while maintaining compliance with applicable payroll regulations. The person in this role will work closely with payroll leadership, HR, Finance, and internal stakeholders to resolve issues, improve accuracy, and support payroll-related reporting and reconciliation.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Administer bi-weekly payroll processing for designated employee groups, including hourly and salaried staff, while accounting for overtime, bonus payments, relocation-related earnings, and other pay components.<br>• Audit timesheets, deductions, and payroll adjustments to confirm data integrity before each payroll cycle is finalized.<br>• Investigate payroll discrepancies and resolve documentation issues in advance of payment to minimize errors and delays.<br>• Escalate processing concerns, exceptions, and recurring payroll issues to payroll leadership with clear documentation and recommended next steps.<br>• Maintain payroll files and supporting records in alignment with organizational standards and audit expectations.<br>• Partner with Human Resources to ensure employee status changes, compensation updates, and other personnel information are entered accurately and on schedule.<br>• Respond to employee questions related to pay, tax withholding, garnishments, deductions, and payroll calculations in a thorough and timely manner.<br>• Contribute to payroll-related projects, including system reviews, enhancements, and process improvement initiatives, as well as ad hoc support for Finance-led efforts.
