The GIS Analyst is responsible for establishing, implementing and maintaining standards and procedures for database management and development, documentation, field data collection, GIS analysis, map production and web maps.
Overview of Responsibilities:
•Researches Geographic Information Systems (GIS) needs of all departments; translates GIS requirements into logical, economical and practical system design
•Develops and implements standards for data input and maintenance, map production, field data collection and metadata creation
•Assists with the development of GIS applications and models that enable spatial data analysis and queries and develops tools and programs to automate routine GIS related tasks Creates, maintains and updates spatial and tabular data associated with the GIS databases using ESRI ArcGIS software and Microsoft SQL Server software
•Maintains GIS maps utilizing all available modern GIS tools
•Establishes a systems control and security maintenance plan for protecting database integrity; identifies data errors and makes modification/corrections as appropriate
•Bachelor's degree in Urban Planning, Computer Science, Geography, Geographic Information Systems, Engineering or a closely related field
•3+ years of experience with ESRI geodatabases and the creation of spatial and tabular GIS data, ESRI software, specifically ArcGIS and related products
•Experience with SQL Server and other Relational Database Management Systems
•GISP certification preferred
•Knowledge of AutoCAD preferred
