Robert Half Healthcare is looking for a Regional Referral Coordinator who provides personalized and effective customer service in the management of referrals for patients requiring specialty services from contracted medical groups, hospital systems, and third-party payors throughout Northern California, Western Nevada, and beyond. The incumbent reviews confidential clinical information and determines if requested/required services are available within the entire Sutter Medical Network. Through careful analysis combined with proficient knowledge of complex procedures, payor rules & regulations, specialists capacity, detail oriented interests and contractual relationships, the Regional Referral Coordinator facilitates patient referrals to the appropriate Sutter facilities, programs, affiliated and aligned specialists. The Regional Referral Coordinator has a symbiotic relationship and works in concert with the Business Development Specialists and Data Coordinator to develop and maintain strong referrals patterns in an ever changing competitive healthcare market. The Regional Referral Coordinator is responsible for creating smooth and efficient referral workflows for external sources, leveraging evolving technology and interoperability tools such as DIRECT, CareEverywhere and while reporting to the Program Manager, difficulties and/or challenges to gain relationships and exposure necessary to be recognized as a leader in tertiary/quaternary services. The Regional Referral Coordinator position is responsible for the California Pacific Medical Center tertiary ambulatory referral service in addition to the Valley hospitals and all foundations in both the Bay and Valley Operating Unit. Associates Degree - required Equivalent of 10+ years experience in the field - required Bachelors in Healthcare field - preferred 3 to 5 years previous experience in a hospital, physician office or case management setting required. 3 to 5 years previous experience in working with database systems and telephone call center required 3 to 5 years previous insurance experience required.
