We are seeking a General Counsel who will serves as an e-commerce organization’s chief legal strategist and risk steward. This role leads and builds the enterprise risk, governance, and compliance function. Reporting directly to executive leadership, the General Counsel ensures legal integrity across all business activities while enabling smart, scalable decision-making. Key Responsibilities<ul><li>Lead, design, and scale the company’s legal, risk, and governance function with enterprise-wide impact</li><li>Develop and execute legal strategies aligned with business objectives and federal, state, and international regulatory requirements</li><li>Ensure compliance with applicable U.S. federal and state laws, as well as relevant international regulations impacting global operations, customers, data, and supply chains</li><li>Monitor, interpret, and communicate changes in domestic and international laws and regulations; assess business impact and guide leadership on required actions</li><li>Identify, assess, and mitigate legal and regulatory risk across all business operations</li><li>Provide executive-level counsel on corporate governance, compliance, privacy, and risk management matters</li><li>Review, draft, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and policies </li><li>Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including HR and Finance, to ensure legal compliance across various areas.</li><li>Support and manage litigation strategy and working with external counsel in legal proceedings. </li><li>Partner with senior leadership to balance growth, innovation, and risk in a fast-paced e-commerce environment</li></ul>

Responsibilities:<ul><li>Applicants should be highly motivated senior level career-oriented accountants with 10 or more years of broad accounting experience.</li><li>Proficiency in using QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks desktop versions. QuickBooks Pro Advisor a plus.</li><li>Must be proficient in preparing all business tax returns including 1065, 1120S, and 1120 tax returns, including the ability to track partner and shareholder’s basis.</li><li>Proficient in preparing high-net worth individual tax returns including inputting complex K-1 forms.</li><li>Understanding and knowledge of sales tax and payroll tax returns, and basic nexus standards.</li><li>Preparation and review of high net worth individual and small to medium size business tax returns</li><li>Knowledge in gift, estate and tax-exempt entities a plus</li><li>Professionally manage all aspects of the client relationship</li><li>Prepare financial statements and assist in providing necessary adjustments to clients accounting systems.</li><li>Client communication and supervising firm staff</li><li>Offsite work at the client’s location</li></ul>Other Requirements:<ul><li>Active CPA License with 10+ years of small to mid-size firm experience</li><li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills</li><li>Strong analytical and time management skills</li><li>Willingness to travel to clients</li><li>Proficiency Accounting/Tax Software (Ultra Tax a plus), and MS Office products</li><li>Master’s degree in accounting or taxation is a strong plus</li></ul>
