Major Gifts Officer <p><strong>Essential Functions:</strong></p><ul><li>Collaborate with leadership team members, such as the Chief Development Officer (CDO), Chief Executive Officer (CEO), and volunteer campaign leaders, to establish and execute a strategic framework for major gift fundraising.</li><li>Design and implement donor cultivation and solicitation strategies for individuals across all giving levels, in collaboration with the CDO. As a Major Gifts Officer, you will play a pivotal role in our team, with responsibilities ranging from designing donor cultivation strategies to managing campaign progress in our software system. <br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Develop and implement a strategic direction for major gifts in collaboration with leadership<br>• Organize, update, and maintain a tracking system for major donors<br>• Draft and manage communications, proposals, donor profiles, and briefing memos for prospective campaign donors<br>• Coach and guide staff and volunteers for solicitation activities<br>• Facilitate donor acknowledgment, recognition, and stewardship methods<br>• Assist in strategizing and implementing campaign cultivation and recognition events<br>• Monitor campaign progress and donor moves management in the organization's software system<br>• Cultivate, solicit and steward leadership gift donors by developing and executing long term plans<br>• Maintain and update campaign fundraising timetable and benchmarks<br>• Use analytics and CRM tools to create relevant campaign reports Major Gifts Officer ( SALARY RANGE: $100K - $130K/year<br><br>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:<br><br>Collaborate with the CDO, CEO, and volunteer campaign leadership to continue to create and implement a strategic direction for major gifts.<br>In collaboration with the CDO, design cultivation and solicitation strategies for donors at all levels. Organize and update the pipeline of individual campaign prospects.<br>Create and oversee a major donor tracking system for AO staff as well as branch EDs.<br>Prioritize donors, conduct research, and draft communications, proposals, donor profiles and briefing memos for prospective campaign donors.<br>In partnership with CDO, manage and coach and staff and volunteers for solicitations.<br>Develop and execute appropriate donor acknowledgment, recognition and stewardship methods.<br>Assist in strategizing and implementing campaign cultivation and recognition events.<br>Track campaign progress and donor moves management in the Y's software system, and provide necessary campaign updates and numerical analysis to various stakeholders (e.g. Board of Directors).<br>Continue to build a suite of relevant campaign reports, as necessary.<br>Seek to identify, cultivate, solicit and steward leadership gift donors to YMCA of Silicon Valley by developing and executing long term plans for alignment, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship.<br>Maintain and update campaign fundraising timetable and benchmarks.<br>Some evening and weekend work is likely and assigned as necessary.<br>Other duties as assigned by the Chief Development Officer.<br>Requirements<br>QUALIFICATIONS:<br><br>Bachelor's degree in related field preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.<br>At least five years of fundraising experience, including capital campaign and event planning.<br>Knowledge of annual giving and planned giving practices.<br>Experience with working with Board members, volunteers and high-end prospects.<br>Possesses creative vision; ability to translate ideas for new initiatives into measurable successes.<br>Must have strong interpersonal and communications skills (both verbal and writing), including the ability to make presentations and respond to questions and comments quickly.<br>Successfully lead and manage projects from inception to conclusion.<br>Excellent personal computer skills and experience with standard business software, including donor management software, Excel spreadsheets, and ability to create/generate reports.<br>Demonstrated ability to cooperatively and productively work with internal stakeholders across functional and departmental lines.
