  • Katie Weigel with Robert Half Finance and Accounting is recruiting to fill a Controller role for an international mining company that has recently acquired an operating mine in Nevada. The person in this role will be a one person show for approximately the first year, and then is expected to grow their staff to 3-4 people. Initially the person will be responsible for:<br>Monthly quarterly and annual management accounts<br>Managing the external audit process<br>Managing day to day banking issues and payments including processing payroll<br>Assisting with filing of tax returns<br>General admin duties such as KYC forms for suppliers or onboarding forms for banks and or other creditors as well as forms for onboarding service providers or counterparties such as refineries etc. <br>The job is located in Reno with periodic travel to the mine site, approximately 220 miles from Reno. As the company is being newly formed, benefits are not yet in place but there will be a competitive benefits package and bonus.   • Katie Weigel with Robert Half Finance is recruiting to fill an Accounting Manager role for growing Carson Valley area Not for Profit that has grown significantly in the past couple of years and is in need of a strong financial professional. This position will be responsible for developing and maintaining accounting principles, practices, and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements. This position addresses tight deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities including general ledger preparation, financial reporting, year-end audit preparation and the support of budget and forecast activities. <br>Essential job functions: <br>• Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure <br>• Ensure an accurate and timely monthly and year end close. <br>• Ensure the timely reporting of all monthly financial information. <br>• Performs daily bank reconciliation. Maintains cash flow by monitoring bank balances and cash requirement.<br>• Approves cash disbursements, authorizing ACH, wire transfers and bank checks. <br>• Prepares journal entries and reconciles general ledger and subsidiary accounts and audits transactions. <br>• Maintains the fixed asset inventory system by supervising the recording of all items in the inventory, maintaining pertinent records and ensuring adequate treatment of fixed asset acquisitions and retirements. <br>• Supports budget and forecasting activities. <br>• Monitors and analyses department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy. <br>• Advises regarding the handling of non-routine reporting transactions.<br>• Responds to inquiries from the President/CEO and firm wide managers regarding financial results, special reporting requests and the like. <br>• Works with our auditing firm to ensure a clean and timely year end audit. <br>• Ensures all financial reporting deadlines are met.<br>• Reviews financials with President/CEO post close and during production of regularly scheduled business reviews. <br>Education: <br>• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.<br>• Relevant tertiary qualification, CPA/CMA preferred or a combination of education and experience.<br><br>Experience: <br>• Accounting experience in a non-profit setting. <br>• Experience in grant management. <br>• Demonstrable experience in a similar role with minimum 5 years’ experience and a proven track record in finance & administration. <br>• Accounting experience including budgeting, forecasting, monthly reporting.<br>• Proficient with GAAP.<br>• Proven ability for implementing and monitoring financial controls. <br>• Demonstrable supervisory experience of professional staff. <br>• Experience in the development of systems and procedures. <br>• Experience in project management. <br>The company offers a great benefits package that includes subsidized child care, commute assistance (free tank of gas per month), 20 days of PTO, 401k match, etc. Interested in learning more?
