<p>Position Overview</p><p>The Dispatch Lead will manage end-to-end dispatch operations, ensure efficient route planning, and serve as the escalation point for drivers and customers. This role combines hands-on dispatching with supervisory responsibilities and data-driven route optimization.</p><p>Key Responsibilities</p><ul><li>Ability to supervise and mentor a team of 3–5 dispatchers; conduct daily huddles and weekly performance reviews</li><li>Oversee real-time dispatching for a fleet of 200+ vehicles; adjust assignments based on traffic, weather, and priority loads</li><li>Design and refine daily/weekly routes using [software, e.g., Route4Me, Samsara, OptimoRoute, or internal TMS] to minimize miles, fuel, and overtime</li><li>Monitor KPI dashboards (on-time %, miles per stop, driver utilization) and implement corrective actions</li><li>Act as primary point of contact for driver escalations, customer inquiries, and after-hours emergencies</li><li>Collaborate with warehouse, sales, and safety teams to align on load requirements and ETAs</li><li>Maintain accurate logs in the TMS; generate daily/weekly reports for senior leadership</li><li>Train new dispatchers on company protocols, software, and compliance (DOT hours-of-service, weight limits, etc.)</li></ul><p><br></p>
