  • Description: JOB SUMMARY: As a Senior Software Engineer for the Disney Cruise Line Navigator you will be creating innovative solutions by developing and implementing java applications to enhance our guest experience. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be responsible for helping estimate, plan and develop new features. Our team believes in autonomy, empowerment, and partnership; requiring the developer to take an ownership role in the product and technology that is developed for our guests. The role is a hands-on senior software engineer who will: • Work closely with product managers and story owners to design features and prioritize tasks. • Engineer solutions, code mobile applications, resolve defects, performance tune and deploy code. • Assemble releases and drive improvements in the delivery and release processes. • Partner with the mobile team to establish data contraxts. 1. Owns the design and development of software fixes, enhancements, components, and/or new software systems and applications. 2. Participate in software design, coding, code reviews, and assist software architects. 3. Solve problems by collaborating across multiple teams, from product to design. 4. Recommends improvements to processes, technology, and interfaces that improve the effectiveness of the team.FL only; This is a hybrid position with expectations to be onsite 1x a week subject to change. The teams& #39; onsite days are Thursdays.< br >Preferred Qualifications:< br >Basic Qualifications:REQUIRED <br>• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or similar field or related work experience.<br>• Five to eight years of developing Java REST applications for enterprise or consumer use.<br>• Two or more years developing backend systems with Typescript<br>• Experience working in an Agile Team consisting of product, design, QA and development.<br><br>Significant knowledge/experience in relevant technologies, such as: <br>• Strong foundation in CS Fundamentals, especially around best practices in code quality and design patterns<br>• Strong knowledge in Java 17, Spring Boot, Kubernetes, Docker<br>• Knowledge of Typescript in the backend, beneficial if experience is in nest.js<br>• Networking such as HTTP Protocol and Socket connections<br>• Web Services (SOAP & amp; REST)<br>• Software Performance Optimization (memory, CPU, scaling, etc...)<br>• Experience with Security and OWASP recommendations<br><br>SOFT SKILLS & amp; OTHER REQUIREMENTS<br>• Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
