Sr. Accountant We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Sr. Accountant in the Engineering industry, located in Jacksonville, Florida, 32256, United States. As a Sr. Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of the company's financial processes. <br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Accurately prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with accounting standards (GAAP, IFRS)<br>• Conduct thorough reconciliation of general ledger accounts, including bank and intercompany reconciliations, and accounts receivable/payable reconciliations<br>• Analyze financial data, pinpoint discrepancies, and report variances between actual and budgeted figures to management<br>• Oversee and participate in the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting<br>• Maintain and update general ledger accounts, ensuring they are properly classified, balanced, and supported<br>• Ensure the company complies with regulatory requirements, internal policies, and industry standards<br>• Assist with internal and external audits, prepare audit schedules, and respond to auditor inquiries<br>• Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard the company’s assets and ensure accurate financial reporting<br>• Prepare or assist with the preparation of tax returns, including income tax, sales tax, and payroll taxes, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations<br>• Supervise entry level accountants or accounting clerks, provide training, and review their work for accuracy and adherence to accounting principles<br>• Identify areas for process improvements in accounting workflows and implement more efficient practices<br>• Manage and forecast cash flows to ensure the company has adequate liquidity to meet its financial obligations<br>• Conduct special financial analysis as required, such as cost-benefit analysis, margin analysis, or capital expenditure evaluations<br>• Prepare reports for senior management to help guide business decisions, such as profitability, financial health, or investment opportunities<br>• Efficiently use accounting software and ERP systems to track financial transactions and generate reports.
