Benefits Specialist <p>The person in this role will collaborate with Senior Management and Department Supervisors to analyze and understand the staffing needs of the company and manage the entire hiring process from start to finish. This includes, but isn’t limited to, creating job descriptions, working with others to develop targets using our talent software, Predictive Index, sourcing and tracking candidates, conducting pre-screening interviews, scheduling interviews for candidates with high prospects of employment and assisting with the development and delivery of formal offers with management. </p><p>The Benefit Specialist will also be responsible for supporting benefits open enrollment periods, managing benefit plans and policies with the Controller, communicating policy changes and benefits information to current hires and new hires during the onboarding process and providing employee benefit support during the plan year. </p><p>In addition to those duties, the person in this role will conduct regular outreach to local technical schools, local colleges and universities to create awareness for professional opportunities at Kalow.   </p><p>•      Collaborates with internal departments to determine desired staffing levels and related recruitment needs.  </p><p>•      Assists in the development of budgets and timelines for growth in staffing with senior leadership.</p><p>•      Prepares hiring forecasts as part of the company's strategic planning.</p><p>•      Utilizes Predictive Index to determine selection criteria, hiring profiles, and job requirements for all open positions whether they are vacated or new positions.</p><p>•      Develop and update job descriptions for open positions only.</p><p>•      Identifies and sources potential candidates through online company career portals, recruiters, recruitment sites, job boards, social platforms, as well as print media, posters, and flyers, when required.</p><p>•      Identifies and sources candidates by directly calling people employed by other companies to come work here</p><p>•      Evaluate applications and screen candidates via calls or emails, as well as facilitate pre-interview assessments.</p><p>•      Compiles interview questions and conduct in-person or video call interviews with shortlisted candidates.</p><p>•      Compiles interview questions for other team members involved in the interview process.</p><p>•      Coordinates Predictive Index Assessments and assists managers as required with the review process. </p><p>•      Conduct regular outreach & networking with local & regional technical schools (i.e. – Stafford & Vermont Technical College).</p><p>•      Report weekly metrics to leadership related to the recruiting efforts, including but not limited to, open positions, closed positions, turnover rates, time to hire, etc. </p> Purchasing Manager <p>The Purchasing Manager oversees and provides leadership to the Purchasing Department and is responsible for the management of all purchased materials and services to support production and operations of the company. This person will work with the Customer Relationship Managers and other managers to review and understand the customer production forecasts and purchase orders. The Purchasing Manager in turn will work with the Purchasing Agents and vendors to ensure we receive the best possible pricing, delivery, and payment terms to support the needs of our customers. As required, the Purchasing Manager will research and identify new vendors to support current and future needs. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with the ability to collaborate with multiple departments and a wide range of vendors are essential skills for this position. Knowledge of mechanical and electrical components & assembly is also highly beneficial.    </p><p>•       Review and analyze customer production forecasts, purchase orders, so accurate purchasing shortage reports can be distributed to the Purchasing Agents.</p><p>•       Solicit and track vendor quotes for parts and services.</p><p>•       Work with the Purchasing Agents to ensure purchase orders for products and services are being placed in a timely manner to support the manufacturing operations of the business.  </p><p>•       Follow up with Purchasing Agents and vendors on purchase order status to ensure timely deliveries.</p><p>•       Monitor inventory levels and scheduled purchase receipts to meet the company’s inventory turn goals.</p><p>•       Communicate with internal departments regarding the status of parts as required.</p><p>•       Coordinate with the Quality Department and Purchasing Agents to address vendor quality issues.</p><p>•       Update and maintain product Bills of Material.</p><p>•       Oversees and assists with the ongoing maintenance of part and freight cost data to insure the accurate pricing of finished products.  </p><p>•       Monitor all material costs against budgeted job costs.</p><p>•       Research and develop new vendors for materials and services.</p><p>•       Work with vendors to negotiate cost savings through price negotiations, terms, etc...</p><p>•       Manage and schedule regular inventory cycle counts & report results.</p><p>•       Ensure vendor files, both manual and electronic, are being
