Medical Administrator
We are looking for a dedicated Medical Administrator to join our team in Warren, Michigan. In this role, you will play a vital part in managing administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, handling prescription refills, and communicating effectively with patients and healthcare professionals. This is a contract opportunity with potential for a long-term position for individuals with a strong background in medical administration and excellent organizational skills.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Coordinate and manage appointment scheduling for nurses and physicians to ensure seamless patient care.<br>• Process and oversee prescription refill requests in a timely and accurate manner.<br>• Obtain necessary authorizations from insurance providers to support patient treatments.<br>• Screen and respond to patient calls, addressing inquiries and providing appropriate assistance.<br>• Maintain and update electronic medical records (EMR) with precision and confidentiality.<br>• Verify medical insurance details to ensure eligibility and coverage.<br>• Collaborate with healthcare staff to facilitate efficient communication and workflow.<br>• Utilize Microsoft Office tools to prepare reports and manage administrative tasks.<br>• Conduct patient intake and assist with initial assessments as needed.<br>• Support the team in maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations and policies.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a medical administrative role.<br>• Proficiency in medical terminology and understanding of basic healthcare processes.<br>• Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.<br>• Strong skills in patient scheduling and managing appointments.<br>• Ability to handle insurance verification and authorization processes.<br>• Familiarity with prescription refill protocols and procedures.<br>• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patients and staff.<br>• Competence in using Microsoft Office applications for administrative tasks.
