We are looking for an entry-level Accountant to join our team in Theodore, Alabama. This is a six-month Contract position with the potential to transition into a permanent role within a manufacturing environment, offering an excellent opportunity for growth and development. The role involves a variety of accounting tasks, including cost accounting, journal entries, and auditing, with occasional work in the plant to support operational needs. Responsibilities: • Perform cost accounting tasks to analyze and track manufacturing costs. • Prepare and record journal entries accurately and in compliance with company policies. • Conduct regular audits to ensure financial records align with established standards. • Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable processes. • Reconcile bank statements and other financial accounts on a routine basis. • Assist with annual inventory accounting and asset inventory tracking. • Utilize Microsoft Excel to create formulas, pivot tables, and perform intermediate-level functions. • Collaborate with the Controller to support year-end accounting activities. • Work onsite in the office and visit the plant daily to gather relevant financial data. • Contribute to accounting entries and journal entries related to inventory management.

• Foundational knowledge of accounting principles, including Accounting Level 1 & 2. • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas and pivot tables. • Familiarity with cost accounting and inventory-related accounting tasks. • Experience with year-end financial processes and reporting. • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment and adapt to plant operations. • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills for accurate record-keeping. • Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and stakeholders. • Flexibility to occasionally work weekends, especially during annual plant shutdown periods.
