Staff Accountant
<p>We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our Finance and Administration team in San Francisco. Reporting to the Controller, this role is responsible for managing core accounting functions and supporting payroll, benefits, and financial reporting processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of GAAP and experience with general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and audit preparation.</p><p><br></p><p>Responsibilities:</p><p>• Perform accrual-based accounting and maintain accurate general ledger entries.</p><p> • Record and reconcile payroll and benefits transactions, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.</p><p> • Manage cash deposits, prepare bank wires and transfers, and monitor daily cash activity.</p><p> • Assist with monthly close activities, including balance sheet reconciliations and variance analysis.</p><p> • Prepare schedules and documentation for annual audits, including 5500 and single audits.</p><p> • Maintain and update accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance.</p><p> • File tax forms with federal, state, and local agencies and support regulatory reporting.</p><p> • Provide ad hoc financial analysis and reporting to the Controller as needed.</p>
<p>• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.</p><p>• Minimum 3 years of general accounting or payroll experience.</p><p>• Strong knowledge of GAAP and accrual accounting principles.</p><p>• Proficiency in ERP/accounting systems, specifically Ellucian Colleague, and advanced Excel skills.</p><p>• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.</p><p><br></p><p> If you're interested in this position, please apply to this position and contact Alicia Robb at alicia.robb - at - roberthalf - .com with your word resume and reference job ID# 00410-0013334271</p>
