Paralegal
<p>We are looking for a dedicated Paralegal to join our team in San Diego, California. In this role, you will play a vital part in supporting attorneys and managing cases with a focus on plaintiff-side litigation, particularly involving sensitive matters of childhood sexual abuse. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to meaningful work while collaborating within a supportive and dynamic environment.</p><p><br></p><p><strong><u>Responsibilities:</u></strong></p><p>• Manage a caseload of 60-70 cases, with a mix of single plaintiff cases and coordinated cases.</p><p>• Draft and file legal documents, including discovery, motions, deposition notices, and subpoenas.</p><p>• Coordinate litigation schedules and deadlines <em>(knowing discovery deadlines is a must!).</em></p><p>• Format and electronically file legal documents across state, federal, and appellate courts.</p><p>• Prepare for trial, including organizing materials and assisting attorneys during proceedings.</p><p>• Train and mentor paralegals, fostering growth and ensuring adherence to best practices.</p><p>• Act as a liaison between attorneys and paralegals to address workflow challenges and performance issues.</p><p><br></p><p><strong><u>Perks of Company</u></strong>:</p><p>· Casual office (people wear jeans, laid back, dogs in the office) </p><p>· Firm does regular happy hours, baseball games, team dinners</p><p>· Annual firm retreat to discuss goals + fun activities </p><p>· “We’re really proud of the work we do. <ul><li> 3+ years of civil litigation experience in CA</li><li> Willingness to work on childhood sexual abuse cases, caring for clients compassionately</li><li> Plaintiff side litigation experience</li><li> Trial experience - preparing for, and ideally, going to</li><li> Training/supervising experience is preferred</li><li> Knowledge of court filing, calendaring, and formatting legal documents </li><li> Ability to commute to Del Mar 4-5x/week</li><li> Ability to start in November or December! </li></ul><p>Ready to meaningfully contribute to a high-performing team?
