We are looking for a detail-oriented Accountant to join our team in Rockville, Maryland. This is a long-term contract position ideal for someone who excels at maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with accounting principles. The role involves handling various financial transactions, preparing reconciliations, and supporting cash flow management. Responsibilities: • Record and maintain day-to-day financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, credit card payments, payroll, and cash receipts. • Prepare and execute month-end journal entries and reconcile balance sheet accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness. • Verify proper revenue and expense recognition across all financial operations. • Monitor cash and investment balances while performing cash flow forecasts to support financial planning. • Maintain compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and adhere to relevant federal and state regulations. • Utilize Sage Intacct and bill.com to manage financial processes efficiently. • Update and maintain accurate accounting schedules to support financial reporting. • Collaborate with team members to ensure all finance operations meet organizational standards and deadlines.

• Proven experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger management. • Proficiency in preparing journal entries and performing bank reconciliations. • Familiarity with Sage Intacct and bill.com for financial operations. • Strong understanding of revenue and expense recognition principles. • Ability to forecast cash flow and monitor investment balances. • Knowledge of GAAP and compliance with federal and state accounting regulations. • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. • Effective communication and collaboration capabilities to work within a team.
