We are looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team in Rockford, Illinois. This position offers a contract-to-permanent opportunity, providing a pathway for long-term growth within the organization. The ideal candidate will excel at managing financial transactions, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring the smooth operation of the accounts payable process. Responsibilities:• Oversee the complete accounts payable process, including vendor invoices, employee reimbursements, credit card transactions, and payments.• Process electronic fund transfers (EFTs) and other electronic payments for vendors and employees with accuracy and efficiency.• Maintain organized and precise accounts payable records to ensure transparency and compliance.• Prepare and post journal entries across multiple accounts, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting.• Respond to assignments and inquiries promptly, ensuring no tasks are overlooked.• Collaborate with the Controller and Corporate Finance team to provide support as needed.• Assist with additional projects and tasks to support the team during peak periods or special initiatives.

• Proven experience in accounts payable processes, including coding invoices and account coding. • Familiarity with automated clearing house (ACH) transactions and check runs. • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to maintain accurate financial records. • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. • Proficiency in financial systems and tools, with the ability to learn new software quickly. • Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and external vendors. • A proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to continuous improvement.
