We are looking for a highly skilled Senior General Ledger Accountant to join our team in Oakland, California. This is a long-term contract position that requires a motivated and detail-oriented individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in managing accounting operations, with a particular focus on expense accruals, month-end close processes, and financial reporting. Responsibilities: • Prepare and review journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and supporting documentation to ensure accuracy during the monthly financial close process. • Manage accounting operations, including expenses, accounts payable, and general ledger activities. • Conduct thorough reviews of expenses and related inputs to maintain compliance and accuracy. • Compile monthly and quarterly financial reports, ensuring timely and accurate submissions. • Research and resolve technical accounting issues, including analyzing contracts and amendments for potential accounting impacts. • Lead and assist in fieldwork for interim and annual audits, ensuring adherence to audit plans and requirements. • Perform ad hoc analyses and reconciliations to support reporting and operational needs. • Collaborate on the implementation of new systems, such as Coupa, and contribute to process improvements. • Provide support for special projects, including reconciliation tasks and financial analysis.

• Proven experience in journal entry preparation and balance sheet reconciliation. • Strong knowledge of accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, and expense reporting. • Familiarity with month-end close activities and accrual accounting processes. • Ability to analyze contracts and amendments for accounting impacts and maintain detailed workpapers. • Experience with audit preparation and fieldwork, including interim and annual audits. • Proficiency in using accounting systems and tools, with knowledge of Coupa being a plus. • Excellent analytical and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently. • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, along with relevant experience demonstrating attention to detail.
