<p>If you're an experienced accountant with a knack for accuracy, Robert Half has a terrific opportunity for you to check out. As a Staff Accountant, you will prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation. When it's time for the monthly close, you'll be responsible for various aspects of internal reporting. This position will also require you to participate in compliance, as well as communicate with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules for the reporting processes. A good deal of time in this position will be spent on producing Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. Located in the Middletown, Rhode Island area, the company offering this challenging short-term contract / temporary opportunity provides a thriving environment and rewards effort.</p><p><br></p><p>Key responsibilities</p><p><br></p><p>- Assist in monthly financial close workbook preparation, including annual closing process</p><p><br></p><p>- Ready complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll</p><p><br></p><p>- Execute month end close, journal entries, with little supervision</p><p><br></p><p>- Take part in various department-wide initiatives</p><p><br></p><p>- Support implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP</p><p><br></p><p>- Prepare monthly balance sheet and income statement analyses for management reporting</p><p><br></p><p>- Maintain fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation</p><p><br></p><p>- Manage capital lease and monthly payment schedules</p><p><br></p><p>- Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as needed</p><p><br></p><p>- Report on a wide variety of financial data and communicate it in a useful and understandable manner</p>

<p>- Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases</p><p><br></p><p>- Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities</p><p><br></p><p>- Fully formed organizational, written and verbal communication skills</p><p><br></p><p>- BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics</p><p><br></p><p>- Recent and relevant accounting experience</p><p><br></p><p>- Attention to detail and ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement</p><p><br></p><p>- Strong analytical skills, accuracy and attention to detail</p><p><br></p><p>- Accounts Receivable (AR) experience</p><p><br></p><p>- Spreadsheet and database capabilities</p><p><br></p><p>- Commitment and abilities to meet critical business deadlines</p><p><br></p><p>- Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic and constantly changing company environment</p><p><br></p><p>- Skilled with ERP systems</p>
