Grant Accountant
<p>Key Responsibilities</p><ul><li>Ensure proper and timely recording and payment of grants payable, including compliance, multi-year and conditional grant tracking, and expenditure responsibility reporting. </li><li>Maintain accounts payable, vendor management, employee expense reimbursements, general ledger, and bank reconciliations for multiple subsidiaries. </li><li>Prepare monthly and year-end close packages in accordance with GAAP, including account reconciliations.</li><li>Assist with tax and information reporting, including Forms 1099 and 1042.</li><li>Support annual financial audits, tax preparation, and year-end reporting requirements. </li></ul><p><br></p>
<p>Skills and Experience</p><ul><li>Knowledge of grant accounting.</li><li>Strong attention to detail.</li><li>Ability to work independently and as part of a team.</li><li>Proven interpersonal skills with the ability to work with a diverse range of contacts.</li></ul><p>Qualifications</p><ul><li>CPA or Public Accounting experience strongly preferred.</li><li>Hands on experience with grant payables</li><li>Bachelor's degree or equivalent, with a record that demonstrates suitable preparation for this position.</li><li>8+ years of accounting experience in the nonprofit sector strongly preferred.</li><li>Prior experience working for a foundation, nonprofit, family office, or other organization with grant-making activities.</li><li>Hands-on experience with monthly financial close and reporting.</li><li>Experience with annual financial audits and tax filings for exempt organizations.</li><li>NetSuite and Concur experience preferred.</li><li>Highly proficient with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.</li></ul><p><br></p>
