We are looking for a skilled Staff Accountant to join our team in Lansing, Michigan, on a contract basis. In this role, you will handle various accounting functions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards. Responsibilities: • Manage accounts payable tasks, including processing invoices and reconciling payments. • Perform general ledger accounting duties to ensure accurate financial reporting. • Prepare and review journal entries to maintain proper record-keeping. • Assist in month-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate completion. • Handle corporate tax-related tasks, including sales tax calculations and corporate tax returns. • Maintain and track fixed assets to ensure proper documentation and compliance. • Utilize Microsoft Dynamics 365 to streamline accounting processes. • Support the implementation of AI tools to automate specific accounting functions. • Monitor accruals and ensure they are accurately recorded. • Collaborate with team members to improve efficiency and adherence to financial standards.

• Proven experience in accounts payable and general ledger accounting. • Familiarity with corporate tax processes, including sales tax and corporate tax returns. • Proficiency in preparing journal entries and conducting month-end close procedures. • Expertise in using Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Microsoft Excel. • Strong understanding of fixed asset management and accruals. • Ability to analyze financial data and ensure compliance with industry regulations. • Excellent organizational and communication skills. • Experience in a manufacturing industry setting is preferred.
