We are looking for an experienced Construction Cost Accountant to oversee financial aspects of construction projects and ensure accurate cost management. This role involves analyzing project expenses, preparing detailed reports, and collaborating with teams to improve budgeting and forecasting. Responsibilities:• Monitor and manage project budgets, ensuring accurate tracking of expenses and preparing comprehensive Budget-to-Actual reports.• Evaluate labor, material, and overhead costs to identify areas for cost optimization and efficiency.• Conduct post-project financial reviews to assess performance and suggest actionable improvements.• Prepare and maintain Work-in-Progress reports to provide accurate financial insights.• Collaborate with project managers, estimators, and other stakeholders to validate and refine project cost data.• Set up and oversee project accounts within project management systems to ensure accuracy and consistency in reporting.• Utilize advanced Excel functions, including pivot tables and dashboards, to analyze financial data and generate actionable insights.• Investigate discrepancies in financial data, resolve issues effectively, and implement preventative measures.• Drive process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in cost accounting practices.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, with at least 5 years of experience in cost accounting or financial management within the construction industry. • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to create functions, pivot tables, and data models. • Familiarity with project management systems and tools used in construction accounting. • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable recommendations. • Excellent communication skills, capable of effectively collaborating with diverse teams and challenging assumptions. • Proven ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines. • Experience in preparing forecasts, variance analyses, and detailed financial reports. • Knowledge of commercial construction projects and cost accounting practices specific to the industry.
