Administrative Assistant
<p>The Career Service Specialist is responsible for helping homeless veterans gain meaningful employment through individualized career counseling, job readiness training, resume support, and targeted job placement. This role works closely with veterans, local employers, and community partners to facilitate successful workforce integration and promote long-term economic self-sufficiency.</p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul><li>Conduct intake assessments with program participants to determine employment readiness, strengths, and barriers.</li><li>Develop personalized employment plans and provide ongoing career coaching to support progress toward job goals.</li><li>Organize and deliver workshops on job search strategies, resume writing, interview preparation, and workplace success.</li><li>Build relationships with local employers to identify job opportunities and advocate for hiring program participants.</li><li>Assist clients with application processes, preparing for interviews, and following up on job leads.</li><li>Collaborate with case managers, housing coordinators, and supportive service staff to address barriers outside of employment.</li><li>Track participant progress and maintain accurate documentation in accordance with grant and program requirements.</li><li>Represent the organization at job fairs, networking events, and community meetings as needed.</li><li>Stay informed about local labor market trends and resources.</li></ul><p><br></p>
<ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in social work, human resources, psychology, or a related field.</li><li>Experience in workforce development, employment services, career counseling, or social services preferred.</li><li>Knowledge of issues affecting veterans and/or persons experiencing homelessness, including employment barriers.</li><li>Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.</li><li>Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting and with diverse populations.</li><li>Familiarity with local workforce resources and employer networks is an asset.</li></ul><p><br></p>
