We are looking for an experienced Interim Controller to join our team on a contract basis in Garland, Texas. This role is ideal for a hands-on, detail-oriented accounting expert who excels in streamlining financial operations and mentoring staff. The position is expected to last approximately two months, with potential for ongoing part-time support. Responsibilities for the Interim Controller:• Guide and support an accounting team to address overdue financial tasks and ensure timely completion.• Revise and enhance month-end close processes to improve efficiency and accuracy.• Mentor and train team members to strengthen their accounting expertise and operational skills.• Ensure the accuracy of journal entries, transaction postings, and financial documentation.• Assess and implement optimal costing practices, such as standard or periodic methods.• Collaborate on creating efficient workflows to achieve faster month-end close timelines.• Assist with the integration of a new payroll system and optimize its functionality.• Utilize Dynamics AX to improve accounting processes and reporting capabilities.• Promote best practices in financial operations while maintaining a collaborative work environment.

• Extensive experience as a Controller in a manufacturing or distribution setting.• Bachelors in Accounting or Finance• Proficiency in hands-on accounting tasks, focusing on tactical rather than strategic functions.• Strong knowledge of costing systems, inventory management, and period cost methods.• Advanced Excel skills, including the ability to build financial models and document processes.• Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics AX or similar systems.• Excellent communication and leadership skills, with a focus on coaching and team development.• Solid background in manufacturing accounting processes is highly preferred.• Ability to work on-site and start immediately.
