Accounting Specialist
<p>We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Specialist to join our team in Fredericksburg, VA. In this Contract-to-permanent position, you will play a crucial role in managing financial operations, ensuring accuracy in billing, and maintaining compliance with government contract requirements. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong accounting skills and experience with QuickBooks to contribute to a dynamic and collaborative environment.</p><p><br></p><p>Responsibilities:</p><p>• Manage and oversee accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely invoicing and payment collection.</p><p>• Prepare and submit invoices in alignment with contractual and agency requirements.</p><p>• Utilize QuickBooks to handle daily financial tasks, including transaction processing, reconciliations, and reporting.</p><p>• Monitor aging reports and actively follow up on overdue payments to maintain cash flow.</p><p>• Collaborate with project managers and contract administrators to ensure accurate and compliant billing.</p><p>• Assist in completing month-end and year-end financial closing activities.</p><p>• Maintain organized records and documentation to support audits and financial reviews.</p><p>• Support both internal and external audit processes with thorough preparation and documentation.</p><p>• Investigate and resolve discrepancies in billing and receivables to ensure data integrity.</p><p>• Generate detailed financial reports and dashboards to assist management in decision-making.</p>
• Proven experience in accounts receivable and accounts payable processes.<br>• Proficiency in billing functions and account reconciliation.<br>• Strong understanding of general accounting principles and practices.<br>• Hands-on experience using QuickBooks for financial operations.<br>• Ability to analyze financial data and resolve discrepancies effectively.<br>• Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.<br>• Strong communication skills for collaborating across teams.<br>• Familiarity with government contracts and compliance requirements is preferred.
