We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Fitchburg, Massachusetts. This long-term contract position offers the opportunity to take ownership of critical accounting processes, including month-end close, inventory reconciliation, and fixed asset management. The ideal candidate will bring a strong attention to detail and a thorough understanding of accounting principles to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial records. Responsibilities:• Manage and lead the month-end close process, ensuring all tasks are completed promptly and accurately.• Handle fixed asset accounting operations, including asset capitalization and depreciation schedules.• Oversee inventory accounting, ensuring proper reconciliation and accurate reporting of inventory balances.• Review and support payroll processing, including reconciliation and validation of payroll data.• Assist with year-end close activities, including the preparation of financial statements and supporting documentation.• Conduct addback analyses and reconcile related accounts to ensure compliance and accuracy.• Prepare for and facilitate audits, coordinating with external auditors and providing necessary documentation.• Execute ad hoc accounting projects and analyses as requested by management.• Utilize accounting software and advanced Excel skills to perform reconciliations, analyze financial data, and generate reports.

• Proven experience in month-end close processes and general ledger management. • Strong skills in preparing journal entries and reconciling accounts. • Expertise in inventory accounting and fixed asset management. • Proficiency in bank reconciliations and related financial processes. • Advanced knowledge of Excel for data analysis and reporting. • Familiarity with payroll processing and reconciliation procedures. • Ability to support audit preparation and interact effectively with external auditors. • Solid understanding of accounting principles and practices.
