Accounting Manager
<p>Robert Half is recruiting for an Accounting Manager/ Consultant for our Construction client in the Inland Empire. This interim role requires deep familiarity with Construction accounting practices, particularly around subcontractor applications for payment, conditional waivers and releases, and lien rights. This role will be located onsite in Corona, CA.</p><p>Key Responsibilities</p><p>- Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, bank reconciliations, and financial reporting</p><p>- Oversee subcontractor billing processes, including preparation and review of Applications for Payment (AIA forms or similar)</p><p>- Review and process Conditional and Unconditional Waivers and Releases in accordance with project and payment timelines</p><p>- Ensure compliance with lien laws and track lien releases to protect company interests</p><p>- Monitor job cost accounting and ensure accurate allocation of labor, materials, and overhead</p><p>- Coordinate with project managers to reconcile budgets, forecasts, and actuals</p><p>- 5+ years of accounting experience in the construction industry, preferably with subcontractor experience</p><p>- Strong understanding of construction billing cycles, retention, and progress payments</p><p>- Proficiency in Construction accounting ( must have) </p><p>- Knowledge of California lien laws and waiver/release documentation</p><p>- Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills</p>
• A minimum of 5 years of accounting experience within the construction industry.<br>• In-depth knowledge of subcontractor billing, retention, and progress payment processes.<br>• Expertise in construction accounting practices and familiarity with AIA documents.<br>• Strong understanding of California lien laws and waiver/release documentation.<br>• Proficiency in managing month-end close processes, general ledger, and account reconciliations.<br>• Excellent organizational and analytical skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities.<br>• Effective communication skills to collaborate with project teams and stakeholders.<br>• Experience with job cost accounting and accurate allocation of labor and material expenses.
