In this role, you will play a crucial part in managing financial operations, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and supporting audits and reporting requirements. This position is ideal for someone skilled in operational accounting and eager to contribute to a dynamic service industry environment. Responsibilities: • Prepare and analyze complex journal entries related to operational costs, including fuel expenses, maintenance fees, and equipment depreciation. • Lead month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting. • Collaborate with external auditors to facilitate audits, prepare schedules, and ensure compliance with government contract requirements. • Monitor and track key cost drivers such as fleet maintenance, labor, and disposal fees to support operational efficiency. • Review high-value vendor invoices for accuracy and compliance with contracts, resolving discrepancies as necessary. • Maintain compliance with multi-state regulatory requirements and prepare financial documentation for audits and reporting. • Evaluate and enhance financial workflows and internal controls to improve operational efficiency. • Provide guidance and mentorship to accounting staff while partnering with other departments to optimize cost allocation. • Utilize accounting systems such as Costpoint, Deltek, or NetSuite to streamline processes and enhance reporting capabilities. • Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to assist executive leadership in decision-making.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.• At least 5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in transportation, logistics, or fleet-based industries.• Strong expertise in financial statement preparation and general ledger reconciliation.• Proven experience supporting year-end audits and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.• Proficiency in accounting systems such as Costpoint, Deltek, or NetSuite.• Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and data analysis capabilities.• Strong analytical abilities and attention to detail.
