HR Generalist
<p>We are looking for an experienced HR Generalist to join our team on a contract basis in Chicago, Illinois. This role focuses on supporting a dynamic workplace through effective human resources practices, including employee relations, compliance, and training initiatives. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in HR administration, labor relations, and onboarding processes, contributing to the organization’s goals and fostering a positive work environment.</p><p><br></p><p>The hourly rate range for this position is $35 to $37. Benefits available to contract professionals, include medical, vision, dental, and life and disability insurance. Hired contract/temporary professionals are also eligible to enroll in our company 401(k)plan. Visit roberthalf.gobenefits.net for more information.</p><p><br></p><p>Responsibilities:</p><p>• Manage pre-employment procedures, including background checks, credentialing, and onboarding of new hires.</p><p>• Conduct employee orientation programs to ensure seamless integration into the organization.</p><p>• Address employee concerns, facilitate investigations, and resolve workplace conflicts.</p><p>• Collaborate with union representatives to address salary matters and compliance with collective bargaining agreements.</p><p>• Maintain accurate employee records and ensure adherence to labor laws and regulations.</p><p>• Monitor and report on HR metrics, including turnover rates and employee engagement trends.</p><p>• Respond to employee inquiries regarding benefits, leave policies, and payroll matters.</p><p>• Organize and track compliance training sessions, ensuring all required certifications are up to date.</p><p>• Assist with the implementation of performance management systems and development programs.</p><p>• Support open enrollment processes and provide guidance on employee benefits.</p>
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.<br>• A minimum of three years of HR generalist experience, ideally in a healthcare or nonprofit environment.<br>• Familiarity with unionized workplaces and the ability to work collaboratively with union stewards.<br>• Strong knowledge of HR best practices and labor laws.<br>• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to handle sensitive workplace matters.<br>• Proficiency in HRIS systems and the Microsoft Office Suite.<br>• Certification in PHR or SHRM-CP is preferred but not required.<br>• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
