Special Assistant
We are looking for a dependable Office Assistant II to support a records archiving project for a local government organization in Baltimore, Maryland. This contract assignment is well suited for someone who works carefully, stays organized, and can manage sensitive documents with professionalism. The role focuses on preparing physical records for storage, maintaining accurate file handling practices, and helping the team complete project goals on schedule.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Sort and arrange documents so they are ready for archival processing and long-term storage.<br>• Pack records into boxes, apply correct identification labels, and verify materials are matched to project guidelines.<br>• Place archived files in assigned storage areas and keep physical records organized for easy retrieval.<br>• Track boxed and filed materials to support inventory accuracy and overall document control.<br>• Handle confidential information with discretion while maintaining a high level of accuracy in daily tasks.<br>• Move archive boxes and related materials as needed to support project workflow and storage activities.<br>• Follow direction from supervisors and adhere to workplace safety expectations throughout the assignment.<br>• Complete archiving and filing work within established deadlines to help the project stay on schedule.
• Prior experience in clerical support, office administration, records management, or a similar administrative environment is preferred.<br>• Strong organizational skills with close attention to detail in filing, labeling, and document handling.<br>• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a fast-moving setting.<br>• Consistent attendance, dependability, and punctuality are required for this assignment.<br>• Demonstrated ability to manage confidential records with attention to detail and in a responsible manner.<br>• Comfort performing repetitive filing, boxing, and document sorting tasks during the workday.<br>• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds and regularly stand, bend, and move throughout the shift.
