Office Assistant
We are looking for a dependable Office Assistant II to support a records archiving project for a local government organization. This is a Contract position focused on organizing physical documents, preparing files for storage, and helping maintain accurate recordkeeping throughout the assignment. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, careful in handling sensitive information, and comfortable contributing in a team-driven office environment.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Prepare documents and files for archiving by reviewing, sorting, and arranging materials for storage.<br>• Pack records into boxes, apply clear labels, and ensure each item is organized according to established project guidelines.<br>• Place archived materials in assigned storage areas and maintain orderly filing systems for easy retrieval.<br>• Support record inventory activities by tracking boxed files and updating document organization logs as needed.<br>• Handle confidential information with discretion while maintaining a high level of accuracy in daily tasks.<br>• Move archive boxes and materials throughout the workspace while following safety expectations and supervisor direction.<br>• Work closely with team members to complete project assignments within required deadlines.<br>• Provide general office support, including filing, data entry, and related administrative assistance as needed.
• Previous experience in clerical support, administrative work, records management, or a similar office-based role is preferred.<br>• Strong organizational skills with careful attention to detail and accuracy.<br>• Ability to manage confidential documents with attention to detail and in a responsible manner.<br>• Dependable attendance and consistent punctuality throughout the project assignment.<br>• Comfortable working independently as well as collaborating with a team.<br>• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds and perform frequent standing, bending, and repetitive filing tasks.<br>• Basic office support skills, such as filing, data entry, and administrative assistance, are helpful for success in this role.
